Description

Since I've gotten back into Art Nouveau (AND HOW!) after I drew this I wanted to try something different. I talked with :iconnachomon: and he suggested something Celtic, originally I was going to draw Odin until I realized that's Norse mythology, not Celtic. So I hit the mythology/legend books (and believe you me, I got a LOT of them) for some research. There were a few stories I liked in particular, the Horned God Cernunnos, the Goddess of Wild Horses, Epona and a story about an island which is inhabited by dancing women that are in fact fire spirits. I think you can obviously tell which one I went for.

Fun facts; Cernunnos is also known as Kurnous in the Warhammer universe, he is the God of the Forest Elves and the God of Hunting and Feasts for the Eldar (Lilleath is his little ho, there I said it, you're welcome Jess).
Cernunnos was also the inspiration for Shakespeare for King Oberon in 'A Midsummer Nights dream' (that's the Supreme King of all fae folk, hence him I gave him some cute Sprites for company)

In terms of coloring without lineart I'm still getting the hang of things, although personally I think I did quite well here. :)

well actually there is some connection (may be a little bit far fetched) between Cernunnos, Odin/Wotan, Oberon... and I think you might enjoy it... if you want I can try to summerize it, but it will be quite confused and roughly said ^^ but if you like harlequins, old legends and pan-european mytholgy it could be some inspiration for you :)
