Ah...where to begin.

About a month ago I got a rather bad hand cramp from excessive use (jewelry making, painting, chatting and video games)
Thinking nothing of it life went on as usual.
Now the last week of december I fell suddenly ill and was bedridden for three days, while the cramp in my hand became a numbness and spread throughout my body everywhere below the neck. (imagine your whole body getting that "fallen aleep" sensation and having it 24/7)
Time passed and it wouldn't go away, so this week I went to a doctor to get a check up.
Turns out what I thought was a bad case of pinched nerve is actually a viral infection in the left part of my brain. When examined with a reflex test my right leg failed to respond, doc said it was time for an MRI. So here I am in SLC for work while my doctor now has the results and awaits me on tuesday.

Honestly I expected my Bday to be a liiiiiittle bit different, but you know what? I'm still alive, and I got the best family and friends there for me, makes things a whole lot easier, not to mention there's people out there with far worse things thast this. Despite the fact that my fingers cannot feel the keyboard as I type and they're rather stiff...the goes my juggling career, lol. Forget paiting, that's a whole new world of suffering as I found out XD

Btw, doc says if he thinks that this is what he THINKS it is, there's treatment, so I'm optimistic. Then again, he has my MRI results and only he knows for now.

Until then peeps, even though I'm absent and refrain from commenting know that I keep one eye scouring about DA occationally...speaking of which, happy B-day Cross. lol

And Imric, Lex, Drawnon, thanks for being there for me. It means the world to me <3

I woke this morning with a particularly happy spring in my step <3
For the first time in a few years that happy, giddy, fuzzy overall warm feeling of content washes over me like it did when I was little.

So today I shall help out in the kitchen preparing the German Karp we got (In europe we eat fish traditionaly instead of turkey, we'll have turkey tomorrow) and watch the old Slovakian fairytale movies with my mom, it's our little tradition we started :3 <3

It's hard to believe it's already December.
Lately days are weeks and weeks are months, everything is going so fast.
So here I am taking care of things (Business, life, family etc.) since around September/October, that's when
work is the bussiest. All I have left is three more shows, the big three day show, which is
today and this weekend, then New Mexico and last is Vegas. After that a week of vacation.
I'm fed up with Arizona, even though it's "nicest" in winter weather wise it doesn't feel like Christmas at all....you ever seen a decorated cactus with lights? It's incredibly depressing, I miss snow, it makes me happy on the inside.

A quarter of a century is looming very close upon me, which reminds me to wish a Happy B-day to all December bebehs, you KNOW who you are ;3
Ah, what to get?
Maybe a PS3, I don't need anything really but I do admit that some of those games look incredible.
(Mmmh, Assassins Creed2, Brutal Legend, Demon's Soul and Darksiders, DO WANT!)

And yes there is art in the works, the second people will start bitching about me not
posting enough or taking forever to post I will bitchslap them, seriously guys, I got a job
and a life I don't need the added nagging, art doesn't pay my bills.

I've noticed and maybe this is just me, but is the amount of drama doubled during the winter season? Last year same thing, the whole year is average, but the second December starts bad karma kicks into overdrive. Arguments, bad news, unpleasant situations...maybe it's that people are more on edge, we can always blame Obama and the economy, lol.
But I digress, as people we must push through all that sea of crap that life throws
at us, that's what being grown up is about, right?

Yeah I know I haven't updated in quite a while, but there is nothing of interest going on. I just make new jewelry, read some books, play that damn Mahjohng for hours and not notice, lol.

I've been a fan of the franchise for a long time, since the original debuted in 2004 on the ps2. If there are any fellow hunters, shoutout your stats to me :3

Alrighty, coming is a book rant on Ben Counter's 'Daemon World' and 'The Soul Drinkers' omnibus. If you haven't read these books **WARNING HEAVY SPOILERS ARE GONNA HAPPEN** if you don't care read on or just skip to the end.

First off 'Demon World', the beginning wasn't bad,naturally it was a good setup and things have gotten really awesome with the Word Bearers arrival. When I have a book I like to pick a character and root for him/her/them/it, I chose the Word Bearers since the natives of the planet were far too caught up in their own petty little emo moments. And then when the hunt was on things went 'Liber Chaotica' on me. I use that particular book as refference because in the Liber Chaotica everything is explained at once, the secret veils of mystery are ripped off by the Dark Gods like they forgot it's a striptease and instead go full frontal with their knowledge...and yes, Slaanesh tells you everything. Anyway, that's what it felt like when I read this book, it was bulding up magnificently and all of a sudden "Yeah, I'm not a Space marine but really an uber-ancient chaos warlord from yonder times that hates the dark gods and I'll kill everybody." And yes, everybody and everything dies...

This left a horrid aftertaste, even for a grim/dark universe the book was way too damn grim/dark. Hell, even Eisenhorn had it's lol moments...like the nude kitchen scene, yep, Inquisitors running around naked in the middle of the night, terrorizing their retinue XD rofl.

Now for 'The Soul Drinkers Omnibus'
...I can't say I've ever met a Space Marine chapter that became such debased whores. The Dark Gods take turns at individual members like they're ten dollar hookers.
I have no idea what went through Sarpedon's mind when he sprouted those Spider legs like a mutant centaur...oh yeah, he thought it was a blessing from the Emperor.
News flash Sarpedon, spider legs ain't exactly something good...especially when you use them to kill the Chapter Master to usurp him.

Honestly I wouldn't have minded if they turned to chaos, I'll root for chaos if it's an awesome story *Simon Spurrier>Lord of the Night, Zso Sahaal rocks my socks* but these guys are like "Well, half the chapter is crazed mutants that don't wanna help the imperium but we still fight for the emperor" *facepalm* Good God, you can't get your head up your own arse any further THAN THAT! PICK A SIDE DAMN YOU!!!

As for the characters themselves, as I've said, the Dark Gods court them individualy which means the rest of the chapter has to hunt them down and kill them.
I've read 'Soul Drinkers' and 'The Bleeding Chalice', outright skipping 'Crimson Tears' and just read the end of it. Every single character I like either dies or becomes Chaos's whore and then is killed for it.
This left me with a solitary person, Chaplain Iktinos. Brave, noble, handsome Chaplain Iktinos "you're pure" I thought "you shall be my last hope".
And then I read part of 'Chapter War' which starts of with Iktinos torturing a Navigator and giving praise to Tzeentch...I was about to set the book on fire.

The writing itself isn't bad, Ben has excellent pacing and knows how to paint a scene, but he introduces and kills a lot of characters which seems to derail the reader and kind of leaves them disinterested....well, with me anyway.
Also he tends to expand too much "this character is AWESOME AND GOD-LIKE...but a bolter shell can still kill him"

So yeah, there it is, my book rant.
